Anne Watson Sorensen : "Braving the Wilderness"
In "Braving the Wilderness," multi-media paintings by Anne Watson Sorensen share her explorations into the darkness and discovering the "infinite power of our light".

LOCAL FROM GLOBAL--AN EXHIBIT OF ART FROM BOISE’S NEWCOMERS
Presented by Art BeCause and Art Source Gallery
Art Source Gallery is hosting “Local From Global” throughout the month of April, 2021, in partnership with ArtBeCause. The opening reception will be First Thursday, April 1st, from 5-9 pm - with Boise COVID requirements in place. The exhibition showcases work in many media created by newcomers to Boise. Lauren Kistner, spokeswoman, says, “We have an incredible and varied creative community and are grateful to Global Lounge and Artisans for Hope for helping us connect with the artists.”
This event is free and open to the public, with wine by Indian Creek Winery and music by Bacon Drive. Donations gladly accepted at the door for Global Lounge and Artisans for Hope.

Nature Inspired - Hand Formed
Martin: The medium of fused glass is magic as it transforms in the kiln, and while texture and line are important, it’s the transmitted, reflected light that springs to life. It is fulfilling to create artwork that draws the eye of the viewer, holds it to take in details, see the beauty, and ponder the meaning there.
McRae: I experiment with ways to transfer my photographic images to handmade paper and other intriguing surfaces in an effort to create artwork that will make the viewer pause, take another look and wonder.

Featured Artist - Lauren Kistner
Born and raised in the epically beautiful state of Idaho, Lauren Kistner developed a deep fascination with geothermal activities, topography and other natural phenomena.
Kistner states, “In my artistic process, I am motivated by line, color, and texture, as well as the ambiguity between looking and seeing.”
New works from Kistner are on display and available for purchase at Art Source Gallery, 1015 Main Street. Her show runs from June 29th through August 1st.
Art Source will hold a First Thursday on July 2nd abiding by Phase 3 CDC recommendations of limiting number of guests at a time to allow for social distancing. All members will be wearing masks. We will not be serving food or beverage, however, we will have musical entertainment.

Allen Malaise: Sculptor in Bronze is featured Artist of the Month at Art Source Gallery during the month of June. Allen's interesting bronze pieces will grace the Gallery during June. His inspiration comes from his love of outdoor adventure and culminates in elegant and evocative pieces lovingly created and displayed. Open from 11 am to 4 pm, the Gallery practices social distancing, while offering an artistic respite from our other concerns.

Betty Hayzlett has worked in fiber since she was a girl making doll clothes, and as a college undergraduate, earned a degree in art; but it was a BSU weaving class plus a BAM felting workshop that brought her to what she is creating now. Using primarily hand-made felt, incorporating other media and processes, her current work combines fiber with wood in all its incarnations, from twigs, roots, and slices of trees. Moody is a Boise based architectural photographer and artist who combines multiple images into a creative, surreal, dream state, digital image with elements of nature and industrial renderings. His work is reminiscent of his days creating in watercolor and sculpture, giving him artistic freedom without photographic restraints.
