“Echoes of Service” is a juried art exhibition celebrating the creativity, resilience and unique perspectives of U.S. military Veterans. Hosted by Art Source Gallery in cooperation with the partnership with the Boise VA Medical Center and featuring military artists from the Idaho VA Veterans’ Creative Arts Collective. The exhibition showcases the artwork of Idaho’s military veterans using  the power of art as a tool for expression, healing and connection. The exhibit offers the public an opportunity to experience the diverse voices and stories of those who have served in the United States military services.

"Exhibitions like "Echoes of Service" provide opportunities for Veterans to experience validation and find a new sense of purpose through their identity within the greater arts community," said Patricia Mazul, art therapist at the Boise VA Medical Center and creator of the Collective.  "As exhibiting artists, Veterans self-advocate and educate the public of their experiences while taking ownership of their own perspective.  I have been an Art Therapist for almost 30 years, and I am still continuously in awe of the healing impact of the arts."

Hosted by Art Source Gallery in partnership with the Idaho VA Veterans’ Creative Arts Collective, “Echoes of Service” will be on view at the gallery from Feb. 2 through Feb. 28, 2026. There is no entry fee.

A public opening reception and recognition ceremony will be held on First Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, 5:00-9:00 PM, 1516 Grove St. (in Boise’s Linen District). The community is invited to engage with Veterans and their artwork across a wide range of two- and three-dimensional media.

Woodworking artist Cheri Henney will debut her new exhibition, Wood You Believe, at Art Source Gallery beginning Thursday, Nov. 6. Inspired by the natural features of both exotic and local woods, Henney selects each piece of lumber for its character and often waits years before the right vision emerges. Once the form is revealed, she enhances the wood’s innate qualities to uncover its hidden story, surprise or secret.

Henney’s latest collection highlights that intimate, collaborative process. “Every selection in this collection has experienced a singular journey,” Henney said. “With Wood You Believe, I hope to share those journeys with all of you.”

A longtime Boise artist and educator, Henney is recognized for her innovative wood sculptures and teaching at the Boise School of Woodworking. She has been an active member of Idaho’s art community for more than 30 years, with work exhibited at regional galleries, art festivals and juried shows. Henney is also a past contributor to the Idaho Artistry in Wood Show, where she has earned recognition for her ability to blend fine craftsmanship with expressive, organic design. Her pieces are celebrated for highlighting the inherent character of natural materials while encouraging audiences to see wood as both canvas and collaborator.

The public is invited to the First Thursday opening reception on Nov. 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Art Source Gallery, 1516 W. Grove St. in Boise’s Linen District. The exhibit will be on display through November.

Heirlooms from the Sea

Art Jewelry by Meagan Gittins

Featured Artist at Art Source Gallery, Boise, ID – October 2025

Art Source Gallery is proud to present Meagan Gittins as the featured artist for October with her evocative jewelry collection, Heirlooms from the Sea. Inspired by the wild, poetic beauty of the coastline, Meagan transforms natural elements into wearable works of art that celebrate the sea’s quiet magic and enduring mystery.

Each piece is a one-of-a-kind treasure, incorporating driftwood, sea glass, shells, seaweed, and other found objects—often electroformed in copper or silver—alongside exquisite gemstones like fossilized coral, Peruvian opal, Indonesian opalized wood, and kyanite. Some works are entirely hand-fabricated using traditional metalsmithing techniques, fire, and intention.

Heirlooms from the Sea is more than a jewelry collection—it’s a love letter to coastal memories and the stories we carry. Whether it's a walk along a foggy beach, a sun-drenched family vacation, or the feeling of salt air on your skin, these pieces are meant to evoke nostalgia, wonder, and whimsy. They are keepsakes that invite you to connect with nature, memories, and meaning.

The show opens October 2, 2025, at Art Source Gallery in downtown Boise. Join us for First Thursday to meet the artist and experience these treasures up close.

Art Source Gallery will host the opening reception for Inspiration on Public Lands, a solo exhibit by Idaho-based artist Heather Hainsworth, on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 5 to 9 p.m. at 1516 W. Grove St. in Boise’s downtown Linen District. The exhibit will run through the month of September.

The Art Source Gallery, located in the Linen District of downtown Boise, announces an exciting Jeweler’s show coming in August, titled “Think Outside the Jewelry Box - Wearable Art”, featuring six of the gallery’s jewelry artists. There will be a wide diversity of work showcasing individual styles. For this show each artist has created a completely unique and individual Jewelry Box that will be displayed along with their jewelry.

Meagan Gittins combines traditional methods of metalsmithing with the less known process of electroforming, enabling her to use organic elements such as leaves, twigs, and even bugs in her art pieces.

Lauren Kistner uses the lines, shapes, and colors of the stones to inform her work, crafting each carefully shaped piece in layers of sterling silver and drawing from both traditional techniques and contemporary design.

Edie Martin uses kiln-formed glass to create focal pieces, choosing the most beautiful bits of the most unique kinds of glass, including dichroic glass and glass with silver foil inclusions that create remarkable chemical reactions.

Rick Olmstead has been fascinated with sparkly rocks since he was a child, learning how to polish them, then taking up silversmithing, and now creating  beautiful jewelry, with meticulously polished stones and silver settings.

Kay Seurat, in 35 years as a self-supporting artist, has worked with all kinds of mediums, genres and metals, creating one of a kind wearable art, jewelry inspired by everything from nursery rhymes to outer space and beyond.

Liz Warner is a silversmith and lapidary artist (gemstone shaping and polishing) creating jewelry that features the unique beauty of gemstones found locally and globally.

This show is a wonderful opportunity to view one-of-a-kind jewelry art and the show’s opening will be on Thursday, August 7th, 5-9PM. The public is welcome, with music provided and beverages and snacks served. Art Source Gallery is located at 1516 W Grove St., Boise, Idaho 83702.
