#3056 "K2 ite" as it's name implies comes from the flanks of the 2nd highest mountain in the world (K2) in Pakistan. It is an unusual stone consisting of white Granite with curious inclusions of the mineral Azurite. The blue dots comes from bits of copper decomposing to form bright blue spheres of copper carbonate inside the stone. At first some people thought it was Lapis inclusions or even some sort of dyeing or painting process but it is totally naturally formed. I have sawed through large chunks of the white granite  and found abundant pea sized dots of blue azurite throughout the rock all the way to the center. It would be impossible to stain the inside of it and not find staining of the white granite on the outside and throughout it.
