Oval platter #570 is a water-processed piece, created by dripping water methodically onto a layer of glass powder that has been sifted onto the base glass to create directional troughs and runnels. Each layer is fired, and then the process is repeated several times with a slightly different shade of glass powder. The platter has a somewhat curved shape and an organic textured design of many shades of teal with embellishments of sparkly dichroic glass. The top surface has a matte finish and the piece has been carefully fired and annealed in the artist's computer controlled kiln for greatest strength and beauty, and is hand signed and numbered.
