"Patrician Plum", bowl #557, has a symmetrical dotted underlying pattern in a pale mauve at the base of the design. Further layers were created by dripping water methodically onto layers of glass powder that were sifted onto the base glass to create directional troughs and runnels. Each layer was fired, and then the process was repeated several times with more layers of glass powder. The bowl has a matte finish, a curved shape, and an organic textured design of many layers of opaque purple over the paler cathedral purple, with embellishments of sparkly dichroic glass. It comes with the heavy metal stand but sits on a flat surface if desired. It has been carefully fired and annealed in the artist's computer controlled kiln for greatest strength and beauty, and is hand signed and numbered.
