"Jeweled Monochrome", bowl #551, is a water-processed piece, created by dripping water methodically onto a layer of glass powder that has been sifted onto the base glass to create directional troughs and runnels. Each layer is fired, and then the process is repeated several times with more layers of glass powder. The bowl has a somewhat curved shape and an organic textured design of many layers of black and white with embellishments of sparkly dichroic glass. The inside surface has a matte finish and the outside has a rich silver mica finish. It comes with the heavy metal stand but sits on a flat surface if desired. It has been carefully fired and annealed in the artist's computer controlled kiln for greatest strength and beauty, and is hand signed and numbered.
