Kay Seurat
 
 I have been a creator from the beginning, and a full-time self-supporting artist since 1991.
While many mediums and genres have caught my attention, I gravitate toward three-dimensional work.
My main areas of creative pursuit have been in metal, from Sterling Silver in jewelry to a larger scale with welded steel sculpture.  While metals are on the top of my list, I have also worked in clay, wood, fiber, and found-object assemblage.
 
My jewelry style has taken many paths since I started, and I have created many different series, inspired by everything from nature to nursery rhymes and to cultural references from around the world.
I am also inspired by the medium itself; metalsmithing has a vast history as well as unique working properties that make possible a huge variety of techniques, approaches and voices.
I have only begun to scratch the surface and still have much to learn and explore.
 
In my future….I’m ready to start working on a new series for my jewelry, or maybe revisit and reinvent one from the past. I’m also ready to start working on some small scale found object sculptures and have become very smitten with  printmaking.
