Starting her art career as a scrimshaw artist in the 70’s Linda’s art has evolved through many incarnations, some from necessity and others from desire.

In the 80’s she moved to Sonora, remarried and opened a hand rendered artistic clothing store in Twain Harte, CA, thus beginning a new chapter in her artistic growth. 

Banners for home shows and llama ranch displays became a part of the business when she and Mark acquired their first llamas and began a llama breeding operation.  She closed the store in 1995 and concentrated on the banner business that she could run from home and manage the ranch, not leaving much time for painting.

 Mark passed away in 2002 and after trying to operate the farm alone for a few more years Linda sold the ranch and moved to Rio Vista in 2007 to be closer to family.  The Trilogy Art Guild re-awakened the artist in her and she began working in pastels and acrylics again and dabbling in photography. 

Linda has won awards in the annual TAG art show and has participated in its organization for many years. 

She became interested in the movement to revitalize Rio Vista and joined RioVision becoming the artist in residence and the chairperson for the mural projects in town.  She produced the art for the mural at 2nd and Main.  Linda and co-chair Amy Schmidt along with 20 volunteers did the painting in two months.

Linda, Amy, and Richard Laswell moved on to paint the mural for the 9/11 memorial on the front of the firehouse in 2016. 

Linda is currently serving on the Board of RioVision and is overseeing the management of the Visitor Center Art Gallery along with Amy Schmidt.

Rio Visions many projects keep her busy producing graphics for posters, banners, ads and many other projects while trying to find time to paint.

Extensive travel provides subjects for her photography and paintings, from whale watching in Mexico, to China, India, Peru, Equador. Galapagos, Spain, and most recently Italy.
