Margaret Donat is a watercolor and glass artist.

Margaret earned a BFA in Jewelry Design at University of Idaho in 1978, and a BA in Art Education in 1979. After teaching art for 34 years, she became a founding member of Two Street Gallery, a local artist cooperative. Her watercolors and kiln-formed glass works are always on display there and have been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions.

Margaret’s paintings are inspired by the people and events in her life.

In her "Best Friend" collection, each painting is based on a personal story and is meant to make the viewer (especially those that are older) smile, sigh, or laugh. These images are available in prints, cards and magnets.

Most of Margaret’s glasswork is meant to hang on the wall.  She creates everything from landscapes to whimsical animals, with each piece being one of a kind. Her watercolor experience transfers nicely to painting on glass. She begins by painting a background using Glassline paints. Then she adds layers of glass relief, firing one layer at a time. Margaret loves to experiment with materials, tools and subject matter. Her glasswork is constantly evolving to new levels.
