As a child I loved and drew horsed. Later, my mother directed my abilities toward drawing pictures of her friend's children from school pictures. I loved the beatles in high school, and drew John Lennon from a photo. Attending Arizona State University, Boise State Univesity, and Washington State University redirected my artistic abilities many times over. I learned to be objective as well as subjective. The objective aspect of art are the materials and elements of design used to create art. The subjective aspect of art is the content. It reflects the human element which is unique to the individual artist. During graduate school, I confronted the male dominated world of art for the first time, and was overwhelmed by it. I created art which reflected my reaction to this confrontation. After graduate school, I eventually returned to Boise and the grind of day to day survival. My art reflected this, and an attempt to create work which would sell in the Boise art market. I am now refocused. I have found subject matter which is meaningful to myself, and I hope to others. It concerns humanities' search for happines, represented by a blue bird.
