A Boise Valley native, Donna graduated from Nampa High School, St Luke’s and St Alphonsus Schools of Nursing.  After many years as an R.N. she joined her husband, Ray in operating their family business, from which they are now retired. They are the proud parents of three grown children and ten grandchildren.

She began painting with oils in the early 70’s and, although she has worked mostly in watercolors these last several years, she still enjoys working with acrylic, pastel oil, and pencil.  Through the years she has been privileged to work and study with many nationally known artists, along with many local artists, in a variety of workshop classes.

While she enjoys painting a variety of subjects, she considers herself a landscape painter.  Her style is readily recognized and is often said to have a musical, lyrical quality that tells a story. In each work she hopes to share with her viewer a special corner of the worked, through her eyes and heart, as she sees it and feels it.  It may be a magical moment in time, a “special” place, or an instant of light and shadow, that has caught her imagination.  Her hope is to capture this impression on paper or canvas, to make time stand still, that she, and others, may enjoy it for many years to come.
